Nordic American Thanksgiving Breakfast- Sons of Norway is excited to announce the Silver Anniversary of Nordic American Thanksgiving Breakfast (NATB). Planned for Tuesday, Nov. 24, this year’s NATB will be held at the Bloomington Sheraton. Special guest speakers include: WCCO Anchor Frank Vascellaro, Gustavus Adolphus President Jack Ohle, and Year Lois Quam, Founder and CEO of Tysvar.
Originally founded to help the Nordic community celebrate its common values and shared heritage, the mission today also offers thanks for the privileges of freedom, faith, family and friends. In the spirit of the day, Mr. Vascellaro will speak about freedom, Mr. Ohle will share his thoughts about the importance of faith, and Ms. Quam will address family and friendship.
As always, this year’s event will ask for donations that will benefit two important Minnesota charities: Marie Sandvik Center and Minnesota Military Family Foundation. The first, Marie Sandvik Center, founded in 1940, is a private, non-profit that provides material and spiritual needs to the inner-city poor. The second, Minnesota Military Family Foundation, is a non-profit that provides loans or grants during time of extraordinary financial hardship to the spouses and children of deployed Minnesota military personnel.
