Kari Tauring is a scholar of Old Norse poetry, runes, and culture. Did you know that our ancestors celebrated Jul for two months? January 18 is the first full moon after the first new moon after Winter Solstice and is called the final Juleblot or winter sacrifice.
Ms. Tauring will talk about how our ancestors reckoned time and how they celebrated the seasons, especially Jul. She teaches and performs the Old Norse culture widely and as part of Viking reenactment throughout the year.
