INTERNATIONAL CONVENTION

The 2020 International Convention will be held at the Scandic Ringsaker Hotel.

Scandic Ringsaker hotel provides travelers with a quiet setting, top amenities and modern accommodations in an unbeatable location just outside the city of Hamar, about one hour by car or train from Oslo Airport Gardermoen.

Arrival Information

  • Complimentary parking is available in the hotel parking lots.
  • The hotel is about an hour train ride from Oslo Airport Gardermoen.
  • On morning of August 19, guides will be available at the airport to help you buy train tickets and find your way to the train station.
  • When the train arrives Hamar, a shuttle bus will pick you up and take you to the hotel.

Tour Packages

Oslo package (Option A)
Pre-Convention, 2 nights/3 days

The Oslo package includes transportation from the airport to a centrally located hotel in Oslo. Choose to enjoy a guided tour of Oslo’s top spots, or opt for a sightseeing pass that gives you the freedom to explore the city on your own. At the end of your stay in Oslo, join your fellow Sons of Norway members for a relaxing journey to the convention site, complete with lunch and a tour of the historic Hadeland Glassworks. Transportation to hotel with Hadeland tour (Option B)
Pre-Convention

Depart from the hotel in Oslo and enjoy a leisurely ride to the convention site at Scandic Hotel Ringsaker on August 19. Lunch is included, along with a tour of Hadeland Glassworks, where you can witness stunning demonstrations and even try your hand at some glassmaking techniques yourself. The glass museum features a vast array of historic works dating back as far as 250 years, and the nine onsite shops offer something for every taste and budget.

Norway Tour: Geiranger, the Atlantic Road & Trondheim (Option C)
Post-Convention, 5 nights/6 days

Your adventures in Norway don’t have to end when the convention wraps up! Make the most of your visit and continue your travels with a tour of some of Norway’s top attractions. Marvel at the dramatic vistas at Geirangerfjord, immerse yourself in local culture in Trondheim, and relax in the pastoral beauty of the Gudbrandsdal Valley.

Iceland Stopover (Option D)
2 nights, Pre- or Post-Convention

Round out your travels in the region with a stopover in Iceland, either before or after the convention. During your 2-night stay, you can explore Reykjavíc’s world-class cuisine and breathtaking architecture, make the rounds along the famous Golden Circle, and rejuvenate your body and spirit in the surreal beauty of the Blue Lagoon.
