Egg (1 egg makes 9 wafers)
Butter or margarine
Weigh the egg(s) with the shell on. Use this weight to figure the amount of sugar, butter and flour you will need.
Combine the egg, sugar, butter and flour with a little cardamom to taste. Mix well.
Heat your ungreased krumkake iron on the stove over medium heat, you can also use an electric krumkake or pizzelle iron. Heat until a drop of water dancer or jumps with sprinkled onto its surface.
Butter your iron lightly for the first two cakes. Place a generous tablespoon of batter in the middle of the iron and close. Bake over medium heat until golden, about 30 seconds on each side.
Remove from your iron, quickly and gently roll around a stick or cone before they cool and harden.
Quickly place the krumkake over/in a small dessert cup or bowl and serve as a filled dessert with whipped cream and fruit or berries of your choice.
