A genealogy offer for delegates: Get help finding your relatives in Norway!
For many members of Norwegian descent, traveling to Norway for the 2020 International Convention is an exciting opportunity to revisit ancestral lands, trace the family tree back to its roots—and perhaps even connect with long lost relatives.
Sons of Norway has partnered with a group called Norsk Utvandrermuseums venner (“Friends of The Norwegian Emigration Museum”) that is offering free genealogy assistance to Sons of Norway convention attendees. They work in cooperation with historical societies around Norway and with the State Archive in Hamar.
The group is encouraging all interested members to contact them as far in advance as possible—from now until August—to ensure ample time for research before the convention. Their offer is open to all Sons of Norway members, but convention delegates will be prioritized.
If you have questions or would like genealogy assistance from the Friends of The Norwegian Emigration Museum, please contact them directly using the information below. They will also have representatives onsite at the hotel during the convention.
