Norway is the fashion world’s new “it-girl.” Before the hustle and bustle of New York, Milan and Paris fashion shows, Norway hosts its fashion week. Drawing in crowds of fashionable bloggers and celebrities, Norway attempts to put aside the fierce competition with their Scandinavian counterparts and bring recognition to Oslo’s annual fashion week. In 2018, viewers were pleasantly surprised when they saw some epic pieces coming down the runway.

Hosted at beautiful locations such as the grand old Theatercafeen, the public library Deichmanske and the renewed Villa Stenersen, each show provided a remarkable facelift in the creativity and craftmanship of Norwegian fashion designers. Designers Mayow and Wood presented minimalist collections for the modern-day man, while Tine Mollatt created a romantic and classic collection now sold in more than 700 shops worldwide.

The key to Norway’s new-found fashion success is the mixture of Nordic aesthetics and lifestyle. Norway’s eco-fashion, vegan clothing and sustainable styles are making headway, and designers around the world are gravitating toward the trend. The clothing is designed to complement an active and modern lifestyle while still accommodating cooler climates. For more details on Oslo’s fashion week, visit http://www.oslorunway.no/
