Join Rumelva Lodge 1-685 on Thursday March 26th at 6:30PM at Isanti County Historical Society for a special free community event celebrating Bunads of Norway — the vibrant traditional costumes that embody -Norwegian heritage and identity. Rooted in 19th-century national romanticism and inspired by historic folk attire from pre-industrial rural life, each Bunad features unique regional designs, intricate embroidery, silver brooches (sølje), and colors that reflect local traditions and landscapes. Worn proudly on occasions like Constitution Day (May 17), weddings, and other celebrations, Bunads symbolize belonging, craftsmanship, and cultural pride, with over 450 distinct variations across Norway. Come explore stunning examples, learn their fascinating stories, and discover why these beautiful garments remain a living link to Norwegian culture. Everyone is welcome—no admission fee!
