Come immerse yourself in the cozy traditions of a true Norwegian Christmas Julebord! Learn how to create an authentic Scandinavian holiday feast, sample delicious favorites from our lodge members (think herring, ribbe, lutefisk, krumkake, and plenty of akevitt cheer), and feel free to bring your own beloved Julebord dish or treat to share.
Enjoy Lutefisk, Swedish Meatballs, Lingonberry Sauce, Homemade Lefse, Pickled Beets, Roasted Potatoes, Mashed Rutabagas, Pickled Herring, Crankake, and Rolls. Entertainment provided by Singleton Street from 2:30 pm - 5:50 pm in the sanctuary. Reservations are preferred. The Gro Svendsen Lodge 1-689 will be holding their annual Santa Lucia Service and Julbord at Wallingford Lutheran Church in Wallingford, IA. The service starts as 5:30pm, with the Julbord to follow. Scandinavian dishes, drinks and treats will be served. Free will offerings are greatly appreciated.
Brugjeld Peterson Historic Farmstead will be holding it's annual Christmas on The Farm. There will be Christmas Carols in the parlor, lefse demonstrations in the kitchen and Scandinavian treats, horse drawn sleigh/wagon rides depending on snow, blacksmith demonstrations, homemade ice cream, and a Live Nativity in the barn.
