The voyage of the Draken Harald Hårfagre Viking ship has captured the attention and imagination of thousands, both within the U.S. and abroad. The world’s largest modern Viking ship, its participation within the Tall Ships Festival provides a living example of Nordic seafaring history and culture.
As a Co-Chair of the Friends of Norway Caucus, Congressman Erik Paulsen shares the sentiments of many within the Scandinavian community saying, “People have been looking forward to this year’s Tall Ships Festival for a long time and it promises to be a great event showcasing some of the most unique ships still sailing. It would be a great disappointment if the Draken is unable to make it to Duluth, but it has been great to see so many community leaders coming together to do everything possible to get the Draken to the festival.”
