Starting next month, Norway’s Ambassador to the United States Kåre Aas will be a featured columnist for Sons of Norway’s signature publication, Viking magazine. The ambassador will share key insights about modern Norway, discuss various international topics including transatlantic security, peace and reconciliation, and the Arctic. He also invites subscribers to join the conversation by posting comments and questions to his social media feeds.

“The Norwegian American community is the backbone of relations between the United States and Norway,” says Ambassador Aas, “I’m delighted to be able to address this wonderful group directly.”

Ambassador Kåre R. Aas has served as Norway’s Ambassador to the United States since September 2013. His prior positions include Political Director of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Norway’s Ambassador to the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, Director General in the Department for Security Policy and the Arctic and Norway’s Governor to the International Atomic Energy Agency (I.A.E.A.) Board of Governors. He has also chaired a number of various international groups working on nuclear disarmament, non-proliferation and international peacekeeping operations.

We hope you will enjoy the ambassador’s monthly column and take him up on his offer to send feedback.
